The Latobe Community Concert Band has participated in many community events including:

  • Carols by Candlelight
  • Events held at Gippsland Heritage Park (such as Blessing of the Pets, Community Group Expo, Alternative Lifestyle Expo, Teddy Bear’s Picnic)
  • Fetes
  • Community Festivals

Joining the Band
The Latrobe Community Concert Band endeavours to create a safe and friendly environment for our members to learn and enjoy music. We welcome everybody and cater for musicians of all abilities.New members are always welcome.

The type of instrumentalists sought after are:

  • Brass – trumpet, trombone, euphonium, baritone, flugelhorn, tuba, french horn, etc.
  • Woodwind – flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, etc.
  • Percussion: drum kit,  auxiliary percussion, glockenspiel, xylophone, etc

There are instrumets available to hire.

What is a concert band?
A concert band, also called wind band, symphonic band, symphonic winds, wind orchestra, wind symphony, wind ensemble, or symphonic wind ensemble, is a performing ensemble consisting of members of the woodwind instrument family, brass instrument family, and percussion  instrument family.  (source: Wikipedia).

What do we play?
Our repertoire includes original wind compositions, arrangements of orchestral compositions, big-band arrangements, and popular tunes.
